'I think I'm in labor' is what Chris woke up to at about 4:30 on Friday morning. I had been timing for about and hour and my contractions were about 5 minuets apart. We were both pretty surprised. Mainly because the day before, we had our Dr. visit and due to high blood pressure again she scheduled me to be induced on Monday! Our little girl didn't want to wait! We got to the hospital, and 11 hours and 8 minutes later, Kaia joined our family. She was born at 3:05pm on the 26th, and weighed 6 lbs 12 ounces, and was 18 inches long. Labor wasn't as awful as I thought it would be...thank goodness for epidurals :).
Grandma and Grandpa Corotan surprised us at the hospital while I was in recovery. I talked to my mom at about 5am and told her I was in labor. She told me she wasn't able to get a flight out until the next morning, and that my dad wouldn't be coming for about 2 more weeks. I was pretty bummed...., so needless to say when I saw them I was so happy. My mom has been helping us out and teaching us all of the tricks to getting Kaia to sleep and all the good stuff an experienced mom knows how to do.
Chris is a very proud and excited, he and her already know each other so well. I'm so blessed to have such a wonderful husband that takes care of me, and loves his family so much. He is such a huge help and LOVES being a dad. We just feel so blessed. We are so in love with Kaia and so thrilled and excited she is ours. It feels like she's always been apart of us and our family. She is so beautiful and perfect in every way, I didn't realize how much I would LOVE being a mom. I don't think the lack of sleep has kicked in yet, I'm still on cloud 9 and loving every minute of it. I can't get enough of her, i can't look at her enough or hold her enough. She's so wonderful and we are so so grateful and happy to have her in our family.
