Christmas in Colorado

This was Kaia's first Christmas, and though she's not old enough to open her presents by herself, or understand what was going on, it was fun for us to spoil her! We were able to spend the holiday with Chris family, who recently moved back from England. It was so much fun to have us all together. He has such a great family and they are so fun to be around! We had so much fun watching movies, hanging out, and playing ping pong until early the next day. I'm so blessed to have married into such a wonderful family!

This Christmas season I am so thankful for Kaia and the love and spirit she has brought into our home, and am so grateful for Chris, and all of his hard work. Because of him, I am able to stay home each day with Kaia and watch her learn and grow, it is such a blessing!
Here are some pictures from the nice vacation we had! Enjoy!

Daddy's back!

Chris went on a trip to fly a plane up to Canada for work. He left late Thursday night and got back on Sunday. Kaia and I missed him so much, but I was glad that I had Kaia to keep me company at home. She's such a sweet baby!
I know Kaia missed her dad so much, and I know he missed her to. It was pretty obvious, because shortly after he got home, they were back to their usually business together.....SLEEPING.

SHOTS!!

We took Kaia to the Doctor today for her routine check up (She's 10 weeks today). She has grown quite a bit, she weighs 11 lbs and 7.5 oz, and she's 22.5 inches in length. She was fussy as soon as we got to the Dr's office which isn't like Kaia, she must have known that she would be getting a couple of shots. Poor girl cried and cried, it broke my heart. Luckily Chris was there to help hold her, and I just watched, that's no fun. We are now home and she's sound asleep. Though she doesn't always enjoy the visits, it's fun for us as parents to go and see our little girls progress. She's very strong and healthy and grows so fast!!! We lover her so much and are so grateful she is ours.

Kaia's Blessing

This past Sunday was Kaia's baby blessing. We were so lucky to have all of my family here, including my Grandma who flew in from Hawaii, as well as all of Chris' married brothers and parents. It was so great to have everyone all together. In this first picture you will see my mom showing off the blessing dress SHE made for Kaia. It is so perfect, and looked beautiful on Kaia. Thanks so much mom!!!! The next picture is of all the men who were in the circle, we were so blessed to have so many family members here. Under that is a picture Kaia's grandpa, my dad who came in from California a few days before. You know the people in the rest of the pictures. Kaia is growing so well and is such a pleasure to be around. She is smiling so much and loves to make noise trying to talk. She is the sweetest baby, and we feel so so lucky she is our daughter. She's just perfect and wonderful in every way.

Idaho

We took Kaia on her first road trip this past weekend! We went to Idaho to visit Chris' Aunt, Uncle and cousins. (It's our home away from home - we love it there) We had a blast! It was the first time any of them met Kaia so it was extra exciting for us to show her off. As you can see by the pictures she was held and loved alot! She even sat down with dad and her great uncle to watch the BYU game...she didn't last long before she needed some food, and some sleep.  She was such a good baby while we were there- the first night she even slept 8 hours!! It was awesome!
We love going to Idaho to visit family - we always have such a good time!!

Halloween

Thanks to Aunty Jess, Kaia had a cute outfit to wear during the day on the 31st. She was very festive for her first Halloween! This picture turned out perfect as she 'waved' to the camera.
At night she turned into the cutest black kitten you have ever seen! Though she slept through most of the evening, she was able to stay awake and greet the first few 'trick or treaters' with daddy, who loved and gawked over her in her little costume.

A daddy's love

I just had to post this picture. I love it so much. I love the way Chris looks at Kaia, if he realizes he's doing it or not - he always has this same look in his eyes when he's holding her, and the same cute look on his face. He is such a good dad. He's always ready and willing to get up at night, burp her, change her or anything. He loves to hold and be with her. I always try to make sure she's a wake when her Daddy gets home from work because they both miss each other. I'm so grateful to have a husband that want's to be so involved in his daughter's life - even if it's just the little thing. I can always count on him to help. I love watching him hold her and love her, she and I are both very lucky!

Thank you Grandma Leslie

A few days after my mom left Grandma Leslie (Chris' mom) came to stay with us too. It's such a big help to have extra hands around to help with Kaia, to clean and to cook! It's always so nice to see the grandparents with Kaia, we are so blessed with two sets of very loving grandparents. While Leslie was here we gave Kaia her second bath - and just as the first she loved it! She's such a good baby we are so lucky. A big thank you to Grandma Leslie for buying Kaia lots of cute outfits and pj's, as well as a baby swing, she really LOVES it- it's so nice to have. Kaia loves to get cozy in the swing and then fall asleep for hours. Thanks again Leslie for everything!!

Quality Time

Kaia and her Auntie Kelsey had fun taking pictures on the computer, and spending some good quality time together. Thanks for coming up and hanging out Kels!

Thank you Mom!!!

The first two weeks after the Kaia arrived my mom stayed with us. She cooked pretty much every night, cleaned the house, washed laundry, and helped out so much with Kaia (and not to mention all of the great advice she gave as an experienced mom), we were so blessed to have her stay with us. She was such a big help. And when the two weeks were up, Kaia and I stood by our front window (Kaia wasn't standing, she was in my arms,) and watched her drive away. I'm sure Kaia and I both felt the same way, a little nervous that it was just the two of us, and very sad to see mom/grandma go, hoping we could make it without her. So thanks so much mom for everything, and all the continued help. Chris, Kaia and I all appreciate all you did, and continue to do for us.
Also thank you for the rocker!! It's a life saver! (for those of you that haven't been to my house my mom bought me a beautiful, and very very comfortable rocker. Most pictures you see of me these first few weeks I'm sure are in the rocker, as you can see in this pic.) Thanks mom!!

Kaia's first trip to the Apple store!!

Chris was very proud to take his 3 week old baby on her first trip to the Apple Store in Salt Lake.

Baby's first bath

Kaia LOVED her first bath! We bathed her in the kitchen sink, she just hung out as Chris and I washed her. Though she didn't really like when we took her out of the nice warm water. We were afraid she might be crying and fighting us the whole time so we were very glad to see she really enjoyed it!

Kaia's first doctors appointment!

Today Kaia is 2 weeks old, so we took her to her 2 week doctors appointment. I was nervous she'd have to get a shot, but she only ended up getting her heel pricked. (Which I still didn't like, I need to be tougher.) The doctor said everything looks great and she is perfect! She now weighs 8.2 lbs and is 2o.5 inches long. She was 6.12, and 18 inches when she was born...so she's growing nicely!!

Our little princess

As you can see, like most newborns Kaia is a good little sleeper. She sleeps about 3-4 hours at a time, and only wakes us up twice a night. She's such a joy, even at 3 in the morning. We love her so much, and we love being parents!

Happy 1 week birthday Kaia!!

Friday was Kaia's one week birthday! She has been such a blessing in our lives, and we are so grateful to have her. Even though it has only been one week, she can lift her little head and we are starting to see her sweet personality. She is a very calm baby and just as when she arrived, we still can't get enough of her!

Our sweetheart arrived early!!

'I think I'm in labor' is what Chris woke up to at about 4:30 on Friday morning. I had been timing for about and hour and my contractions were about 5 minuets apart. We were both pretty surprised. Mainly because the day before, we had our Dr. visit and due to high blood pressure again she scheduled me to be induced on Monday! Our little girl didn't want to wait! We got to the hospital, and 11 hours and 8 minutes later, Kaia joined our family. She was born at 3:05pm on the 26th, and weighed 6 lbs 12 ounces, and was 18 inches long. Labor wasn't as awful as I thought it would be...thank goodness for epidurals :).
Grandma and Grandpa Corotan surprised us at the hospital while I was in recovery. I talked to my mom at about 5am and told her I was in labor. She told me she wasn't able to get a flight out until the next morning, and that my dad wouldn't be coming for about 2 more weeks. I was pretty bummed...., so needless to say when I saw them I was so happy. My mom has been helping us out and teaching us all of the tricks to getting Kaia to sleep and all the good stuff an experienced mom knows how to do.
Chris is a very proud and excited, he and her already know each other so well. I'm so blessed to have such a wonderful husband that takes care of me, and loves his family so much. He is such a huge help and LOVES being a dad. We just feel so blessed. We are so in love with Kaia and so thrilled and excited she is ours. It feels like she's always been apart of us and our family. She is so beautiful and perfect in every way, I didn't realize how much I would LOVE being a mom. I don't think the lack of sleep has kicked in yet, I'm still on cloud 9 and loving every minute of it. I can't get enough of her, i can't look at her enough or hold her enough. She's so wonderful and we are so so grateful and happy to have her in our family.

38 weeks down....2 weeks left...

Well our last Dr. appointment went well. It's always exciting to hear our baby's heart beat. I'm so happy that Chris has been able to come to every one of the appointments, which are always exciting. The nursery is pretty much done and we feel pretty prepared for her to come any day (sooner than later I'm hoping :) Luckily my mom will be coming next week to help us get those last minute things together - because I'm sure there are things we've missed. We're excited to post pictures of our little girl when she arrives. Check back, hopefully we'll have some soon :)

Gabe and Jess in Thailand

Gabe and Jess and Malina are all in Thailand visiting Jessica's sister and her family. They just sent this picture over, and I can't help but want to show it to everyone. My niece is the cutest little baby! I thought this was such a great picture so I wanted to share it with all of you. Enjoy....Malina is the dark baby, the other little girl is her cousin Kiara. (If you click on the picture it should bring up a bigger one for you to look at.)

3 weeks to go....

Only 3 weeks left (I hope) and our little girl will be here. I will shortly be posting some pics of me and my big belly that we took over the weekend. And hopefully soon we'll have pics of our daughter!

Chris had all weekend off work, so on Saturday we took the beautiful Alpine Loop drive and had lunch at the Foundry Grill at Sundance. I forget how much I love living in Utah - it's so beautiful here! We haven't been camping as much this summer as we would have liked, but there's always next summer!!

8 weeks left!!

Chris wanted to get some more recent pics of me and the little one in my belly. We took these this past Sunday. She's moving quite a bit still, and it seems like she really wants out!! Her Daddy and Auntie Kelsey like to talk and sing to her. Chris and I are so excited to see who she looks like, and can hardly wait to have her in our arms! 8 weeks seems so far away, but seeing how far we've, come it'll be here before we know it!!

As many of you know Chris is a pilot. He has all of his ratings from his private pilots license, through his Commercial Multi-engine. He works for UVU in the Aviation Dept. at the Provo Airport. It is so fun flying with Chirs, and he's a great pilot. Every now and again he will get the opportunity to deliver planes. He is currently in Canada picking up a plane from Diamond, the manufacturer, to deliver to the U.S. I have some pictures here from the last delivery he and his friend made. They pick up the plane in Southern California, and delivered it to Oregon. One of the pictures is showing the smoke from the fires in CA, another picture is of the great view he get's of the sun setting while flying. Chris really loves flying and is excited for where his career will take him. As soon as he get's back from Canada I will post more pics from the flight he's currently on.

My beautiful Niece

This is my niece Malina - I just can't get over how perfect and beautiful she is! (This is my brother Gabe's daughter) and she is so much fun!! She will be a year old on October 8th. We just can't get enough of her! I wanted to post some pics to shower her off!! My sister-in-law Jessica say's she really know's how to work the camera.
We are so excited to have a littl girl of our own in 2 months! My brother Nick and his wife Mandi are also expecting in December! We'll find out next week if they are having a boy or a girl!! The Corotan family is growing!!
